Phil Sayer
Phil Sayer was a presenter for BBC North West Tonight. He was also known for his distinctive voice, which was often heard on various forms of public transportation in the United Kingdom. Born in 1952, he gained widespread recognition for providing voice announcements on trains, buses, trams, and other transport systems. His clear and reassuring voice became a familiar presence to commuters and travelers throughout the UK.
One of his most well-known contributions was the “Please mind the gap” announcement on the London Underground. Phil Sayer’s voice was also used in many other public service announcements, making him a familiar and comforting presence to those using public transportation.
Sadly, Phil Sayer passed away in April 2016, but his voice continues to be remembered for its contribution to the daily lives of people in the UK.
