For the 6th film in the annual Ghost Story for Christmas strand, Lawrence Gordon Clark went for something different. Instead of going to M.R. James, he chose to adapt Charles Dickens' 1866 short story about a Signalman played by Denholm Elliot, and a tragedy that occurs.
