Building on last year, BBC Sport decided to keep its revamped format in place as the programme changed its emphasis from a review of the sporting year to an awards ceremony. The tone moved away from a sport-by-sport review to a more voxpop-based musical montage of clips from selected sporting events which took place over the year mixed with a significant increase in the number of awards, as premiered the previous year. .
