The Ten O’Clock News (2)
Broadcast
1986

The station decided to launch a news department in 1986. The Ten O’Clock News was not the first attempt at a prime time newscast in Philadelphia, but it was the first one to last. WTAF actually went all out in acquiring its talent: Lee McCarthy was formerly an NBC correspondent while the divisive Howard Eskin was a sportscaster at KYW. Eskin remains a market fixture today. These clips were captured from the original broadcast, and not the 2006 retrospective, which presented portions of this footage with fake film damage.
