Tim Westwood

Tim Westwood is a British DJ, radio and television presenter, and a prominent figure in the UK hip-hop and urban music scenes. He was born on October 3, 1957, in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England. Westwood is best known for his long-running radio show on BBC Radio 1, where he played a significant role in promoting hip-hop and urban music to a UK audience.

He began his career as a DJ in the early 1980s and gained recognition for his work on various pirate radio stations. In 1994, he joined BBC Radio 1, where he hosted the “Tim Westwood Show.” This program became a platform for many emerging and established artists in the hip-hop and urban music genres.
