The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club

After the success of The Comedians, producer John Hamp was looking at expanding the format and placing it in a more authentic setting. So a working men's club was created at Granada's studios, where real bear flowed, with Bernard Manning as the compere and Colin Crompton as the club chairman, it would be a mix of comedians, singers, magicians and bands, with gags and banter between the acts from Manning and Crompton. This title sequence comes from the very first episode.
