When the Boat Comes In was a British television period drama about a First World War veteran who returns to his poverty-stricken (fictional) town of Gallowshield in the North East of England. Four series were produced by the BBC which ran between 8th January 1976 and 21st April 1981. This recording is from a later showing on UK Gold.
