The World of Pam Ayres (1)

They say that the number thirteen is unlucky for some. Well, there were thirteen episodes of this entertainment show, fronted by the poet Pam Ayres, which was decidedly unlucky for LWT viewers! It ran from 2/9/1977 to 25/11/1977 and featured a host of guest stars including Derek Griffiths and David Jason. Famed for her vaguely saucy comic verse and country burr, Ayres had become a viewers' favourite following her 1975 appearance on Thames TV's "Opportunity Knocks." The title sequence and music are warm and cheesy, as you'd expect for a family show on LWT.
