In February 1997 the channel was renamed Paramount Comedy. Paramount's new marketing director, Dan Brooke, said "Now it's time to make a significant investment in telling people about the channel and its schedule. the advertising budget for the first half of this year would top pounds 1 million, with at least another pounds 1 million earmarked if the first burst of advertising proves successful" HHCL Brasserie won the contract to head the advertising campaign in Late February.
