9 O’Clock News 1985 – 1988

On 2nd September 1985, the 9 O’Clock news was relaunched with a dual presenting team of John Humphrys and Julia Somerville. The new opening titles were by designed in-house, by Andy Davy, based on an idea by John Humphrys. Computer animation was by Cal Videographics. Patrick Lunt provided the voice overs for the titles. The relaunched also saw the launch of Regional News bulletins for the first time after the 9 O’Clock News.
