Midlands Today 1984 – 1987

A new look was introduced on 3rd September 1984 when the 6 o’clock news replaced Sixty Minutes. These titles would start with someone at work and then feature local faces from across the Midlands. The sound track used for these titles was Technicolour by Alan Hawkshaw. In around 1985/86 Midlands today started an opt out service for the East Midlands today based above a shop in Nottingham.
