Alcock and Gander

Following the passing of her husband, Marigold Alcock (Beryl Reid) inherits his business empire, collectively known as The Alcock Group of Companies. The corporate headquarters are situated above a Soho strip club and encompass a diverse range of businesses, including Alcock’s Marriage Bureau and Alcock’s Detective Agency. Marigold’s office is supported by Ernest (John Cater), an office assistant with limited literacy skills, and her business partner, Richard Gander (Richard O’Sullivan). A total of 6 episodes were broadcast between June and July in 1972.
