Written by Geoffrey Lancashire, Chris and Fliss Hawthorne (David Roper and Diane Keen) were poor but happy and lived in a rundown house with their twins, a deckchair marked 'Property of Prestatyn UDC' and little else. Chris' rich friend Gavin Ramsey (Lewis Collins) arrived, fresh from a broken marriage, with a vanload of posh furniture. He become the lodger and the effect on his affluence and liberal sexual attitude was unsettling, to say the least!
