Middle English was one of Thames TV's greatest contribution to ITV Schools in the 1980s. The series was designed to stimulate interest in oral and written language through documentaries, poems, stories and dramas such as the one featured in this clip from Spring 1983 a dramatisation of 'Izzy' by Jan Mark. One of the lead characters is played by one of the presenters from the 1970s ITV Schools maths series, Leapfrog.
