Bonanza

Possibly the greatest Western series ever made, set around the Ponderosa ranch and the weeklly adventures of the Cartwright family, headed by Ben (played by Lorne Greene). Also starring Michael Landon as "Little Joe" and Dan Blocker as "Hoss". It ran for 14 years and 430 episodes were made. It was produced by David Dortort, who created "The High Chaparral" and other Western shows. (EDIT NOTE: That actually is his name, not a typo on my part. The shows main sponsor, by the way, was Chevrolet and the stars occasionally appeared in commercials endorsing Chevrolet cars) These clips are from 1969 Left Clip – Titles featuring a burning map and that great, great theme song. All together now… Right Clip – Credits featuring paintings reflecting the credited persons role. (A guy playing the fiddle for the man who supplied the music etc)
