Grampian Television 1982 – 1989 Branding

With the onset of a new franchise period, the company unveiled a refreshed ident, complete with an updated jingle.

In January 1985, the ident took on an animated form. SSK Productions, based in Glasgow, were commissioned to design this new appearance. Their creative concept involved spheres and discs navigating through space before coalescing into a cube. This cube would then tumble and spin, ultimately bursting into the iconic St. Andrew’s Cross symbol. The animation was brought to life by London-based Digital Pictures, a 3D computer graphics firm, using cutting-edge technology.
