The Christian Channel Europe

GOD TV began life as The Christian Channel Europe in October 1995, but it was only broadcast for around a couple of hours per morning on Sky Analogue transponder 47 (thus sharing with Sky Sports 2). and it was launched by it founders – Rory and Wendy Alec. Before that, there was no dedicated christian channels in the UK, because the pre-1990 broadcasting act prohibits all day christian television.

GOD TV

In 1997, it was re branded as The GOD channel (or GOD TV) and extended its hours (when Sky Sports 2 moved transponder), and eventually went 24 hours a day in the advent of digital TV in 1998. GOD TV broadcasts a range of programmes, some of them presented by leading pastors and evangelists (mostly US – The birthplace of all-day christian TV), chat shows featuring leading christian figures and Contempory Christian Music Videos, aswell as christian programmes for children and young adults. Like all christian television networks, GOD TV relys on public donation from viewers and partners, and every 6 months they hold a telethon called "Missions Week" which give viewers the chance to donate. Today it broadcasts free-to-air all over the world from it's broadcast headquarters in Israel.
