Satellite (Television) 1982 – 1984 Branding
Europe’s first satellite channel was simply named ‘Satellite Television’ and was launched on 26th April 1982. Rupert Murdoch bought a large stake in the pioneering channel and rebranded it Sky Channel in 1984.
