BBC1 Children’s Continuity

Coming out of the 3000th episode of Jackanory, The Hobbit, is a trail for the 1st series of Grandad. It ran for 5 series until 1984 and starred Clive Dunn as hall keeper Charlie Quick. Very confusing for younger viewers, as he was still appearing as Sgt Jones in the repeats of Dad’s Army. Then it’s Think of A Number, Johnny Ball’s first solo series, after being in Playschool. This was followed in the 1980s by Think Again and others.
