5 News 1997 – 2000

5 News launched on 30th March 1997, and promised to have hourly news updates. The presentation style was based on Toronto’s City TV, a Canadian station owned by Moses Znaimer. City TV’s news programmes and bulletins used their newsroom as the studio, and presenters would stand or perch on the edges of newsroom desks to read the news.
