ITN News Bulletins 1987 – 1992

In early December 1987, the ITV weekend bulletin were given a new look, which used computer graphics for its opening titles.

In January 1991 in part due to the move to Greys road, the graphic background was replaced by a newsroom background

ITN Overnight & Morning News 1988 – 1992

The Morning News started on 15 February 1988, when Central, Granada and Scottish started broadcasting 24-hour television on ITV. (London and Anglia had already begin in 1987) It originally started at 5 am and included segments from CNN.

The Early morning news also included ITN World News, which was intended for the international audience and composed solely of major world events. The world news would usually appear 10min into the bulletin. The practice of including the ITN World News as part of an “hour-long” ITN Morning News ended by March 1991, and the time slot was amended accordingly to 5:30 am.

In early 1991 the background was replaced by a live shot of the newsroom.
