ITV North Scotland News
The local news on Grampian followed a straightforward naming convention: ‘Grampian News’ before 6:30pm and ‘North Tonight’ thereafter. This changed when STV took over, rebranding the daytime broadcasts as ‘STV News’ and introducing ‘Scotland Tonight’ at 10:30pm. Notable among Grampian’s line-up of newsreaders were Diana Speed, who later joined BBC Radio 4; Robin Galloway, formerly of Real Radio, Heart Scotland and Pure Radio; and Colin Lamont, also recognised as the provocative radio personality Scottie McClue.
