North East Tonight 2009 – 2013

In January 2009 OFCOM gave ITV plc permission to merge the ITV Tyne Tees and ITV Border regions. On Wednesday 25th February 2009 the shorter bulletins became pan-regional and called ‘Tyne Tees & Border News’. The ‘North East Tonight’ and ‘Lookaround’ titles were retained for the main 6pm programme and late bulletin during the week.
