BBC North West Tonight (First Media City Broadcast)

On November 28th 2011 the BBC North West news operation began broadcasting from their new home at Media City, Salford. Eleanor Moritz presented the very first broadcast in Breakfast at 6.30am from their smaller presentation studio. The new backdrop shows the immediate view from Media city overlooking the Manchester Ship Canal with Manchester city centre in the background and also the Pennie hills in the distance.
