Stanley Baxter’s Christmas Box

Dating from 26/12/1976, Channel Five repeated this Christmas special exactly 26 years later, in a vintage Christmas theme night. It showcases Baxter at his lavish, big-budget best. He impersonates Noël Coward, Bruce Forsyth (aka Bruce Fosdyke) and Jacques Cousteau, he spoofs Hollywood classics, and dresses up as old women with names like Faith Douche. The music, the design, the costumes, the script, the direction are all simply brilliant.
