What the Papers Say

What The Papers Say is a ten minute irreverant review of stories covered by the press for the week. It's one of Granada's longest running programmes made since 1956. The first programme in the series aired on Granada TV and was presented by Brian Inglis, deputy editor of The Spectator. In 1982 it switched from ITV to the newly formed Channel 4 and later in 1989 to BBC Two. This switch was historic, as it was the first programnme to be produced by an ITV company for the BBC.
