Black Adder Goes Forth

Despite some debate over whether the socio-political tragedy of WWI is appropriate sitcom material, this final series of Blackadder attracted wide acclaim for its incisive satirical dialogue and ultimate nod of respect to the fallen. Teachers of GCSE History would be hard-pressed not to at least reference the poignant final scene in which four main characters are powerless but to charge into the machine gun fire. Principle cast members Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry, and Tim McInnerny each excel.
