GMTV 2002 – 2009

In 2005, presenter Eamonn Holmes left the station. It was later exposed he was deeply unhappy with the “dumbing down and commercialisation”, which resulted in him hating his bosses. Although the STV group had tried to buy out the other shareholders, by 2003 STV had given up and sold off its stake which resulted in Carlton and Granada’s being the main shareholder at 75 pecent with Disney at 25 pecent. By 2008 Disney finally sold their share given ITV plc full control.
