Granada Plus

Granada Plus was a one of sting of channel owned by Granada Sky Broadcasting which launched in October 1996. Initially the channel only broadcast programmes made originally by Granada Television and London Weekend Television, this was quickly changed to including other ITV and BBC made programmes along with Classic US dramas. The biggest draw for the channel were the thrice-daily repeat of classic Coronation Street episodes starting from 1976. The channel ceased broadcasting on 1st November 2004, and ITV3 launched in it’s place.

Granada Plus Pre-Launch

1996 – 1998

At 7pm on 1st October 1996 Granada Plus was launched.

1998 – 1999

In February 1998, the channel was renamed G Plus, with a new set of idents to match. In early 1999 the idents were changed, but the promo were not altered.

On Monday 9th September 2002, Plus was given a new look which featured a pale blue ball with a plus sign on it.
