UKTV Food 2004 – 2009

On The 15th of March 2004, UK Food was rebranded UKTV Food, a full week after all the other UK channels had been rebranded! — Maybe someone forgot about poor old UK Food!

Good Food 2009 – Present

UKTV Food rebranded as Good Food on 22nd June 2009, the company's 10th and final channel relaunch. The name, which comes from the BBC Worldwide cookery magazine Good Food (which UKTV has licensed for use on the channel), was chosen after an exhaustive research process which had found that Good Food was the most popular new name amongst "both current and potential new viewers". This would enable the channel to have the capability of "standing out" within the Lifestyle section of Sky's EPG.

UKTV controller Matthew Littleford said "We are thrilled to mark our tenth and final channel rebrand with a completely different approach: licensing an established brand name that has both heritage and credibility associated with it. By re-launching our new food channel as Good Food, UKTV gains valuable brand equity while also completing our ambitious 18-month strategy to create a network of truly multiplatform brands."

UKTV's director of lifestyle, factual and new media Jane Mote Said "UKTV Food is hugely successful in both the linear TV world and online, so this rebrand is about building on its strengths while incorporating it into the new-look UKTV portfolio. We're really looking forward to bringing the Good Food brand to life in a way that only TV can, while also making it appeal to a broader audience who love watching food shows for entertainment but wouldn't necessarily describe themselves as foodies."

On 11th June 2019 as part of the UKTV split, Discovery acquired full ownership of the channel, after a review of the newly-acquired portfolio decided to close down the channel on the night from 13th to 14th September 2019 and merge the channel with "Food Network UK".

At the same time to reinforce its commitment to original British commissions, it confirmed a new series fronted by Ainsley Harriott – Ainsley's Market Food for the Food Network.
