George Alagiah

George Alagiah was a British journalist and former BBC News presenter known for his extensive career covering major international events. He was born in Sri Lanka in 1955 and worked at the BBC for many years, reporting on events such as the Gulf War and the Rwandan genocide. He was renowned for his calm and authoritative style. Alagiah authored books and became an advocate for cancer awareness after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2014.

George sadly died in July 2023.
