Meridian Tonight (South) (Open)

Until ITV moved its main news programme to 6.30pm the Friday edition of Meridian Tonight had lasted an hour. After the changes Meridian created a new sunday programme to make-up the quota. It was usually presented by a B-team of presenters, here Peter Henley (usually a reporter) and Sally Simmonds (sports presenter), although Fred Dinenage did present one Sunday edition. Previously the Sunday tea-time edition had included a news-review which moved to the Sunday lunchtime news instead.
