My Hero

My Hero was a BBC sitcom that ran between 2000-2006. It initially starred Ardal O’Hanlon (subsequently recast with James Dreyfus) as the alien superhero Thermoman from the planet Ultron, who leads a double life on Earth under the alias of George Sunday whilst living with his lover Janet Dawkins (Emily Joyce) after saving her live when she fell down the Grand Canyon. Despite being highly intelligent, Thermoman finds it hard to adjust to understanding aspects of human culture and societal values, which makes him appear dim-witted towards others.
