News At Ten, and it's iconic theme, have become part of UK Tv history. Beginning in 1967, it continues today and has spawned the majority of the UK's legendary newsreaders including Alistair Burnett and Sandy Gall, Anna Ford, Sir Trevor McDonald and Alistair Stewart. Some bright spark at ITV decided to rename it "ITV Nightly News" at the end of the last century, causing a furore and questions were even asked in Parliament as to how this was allowed. Eventually in 2001, it reverted to News At Ten.
