Daybreak 2012 – 2014

In August 2011, This Morning executive Karl Newton was give the role of merging the operations with ITV Studios and revamping the show to give it “one last throw of the dice” to boost its ratings, which included new editor in David KermodeOn 19 November 2011 Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley were both axed, and left within weeks with Dan Lobb and Kate Garraway taking over as interim presenters. In September 2012, Aled Jones and Lorraine Kelly become the permanent presenters, alongside with Ranvir Singh and Matt Barbet presenting the 6am – 7am slot. In February 2014 Kelly announced she was to leave Daybreak later in the year, with that mind in March 2014, ITV announced Daybreak had been axed, and was to be replaced by Good Morning Britain.
