Channel 4 1999 – 2004 Branding

Setting trends in tv branding once again, and Channel Four looks to stripes and the ‘4’ now in a square…

The first set of Idents were created by Spin: There were used from April 1999 to December 1999 only. The music for the idents is based on the track: Upstream by d*note,

Spin also created over 20 additional idents which mainly included people linked to Channel 4. Introduced April 1999 and continued until 2003, from January 2002 were mainly only seen overnight.

Idents and break bumpers created by STATIC, first introduced in mid December 1999 until December 2001.

Channel 4 refreshed its ‘lines’ idents on 1 January 2002

Channel 4 had a three-hour Simpsons marathon when they acquired the series in 2004, including two original programs; Here are the night’s special idents and a couple of promos.
