Granada 1968 – 1989 Branding

In July 1968, the franchise changes resulted in Yorkshire being spilt into a new area, with Granada now providing a 7 day a week service, within the north west. Over the next 21 years the basic front/end cap never changed, however the G was modernised in September 1984 for use on the presentation.

Granada’s 24 hour tv service started broadcasting on 13th February 1988, as part of joint network service with Central and Scottish. All three local station kept local presentation but broadcast the same scheduled, Scottish Television did use a few of the Night time promo Granada made as advertisement filler. Unfortunately the deal fell apart by early June, and all three went there septate way. Scottish did continue to part network with Granada service for certain programmes.
